Relationships@Work (Workplace conferencing)

Where an agency or organisation is large enough, it may be useful to consider enhancing the skills of Human Resources staff and managers in problem-solving to avoid larger scale conflict, or indeed to construct policy & practices which enhance rather than erode relationships.

The Workplace Conference Facilitator Workshop is designed to develop an understanding of the philosophy & principles of restorative justice in the workplace, the skills to convene an effective conference, & a plan for implementing such a philosophy & practiceso that the practice can be sustained within the organisation.

Facilitator’s Workshop

Conducted over 2-3 days, the workshop is a mix of small & large group work, roleplay demonstrations, practice facilitation & theory. Feedback from these workshops has indicated that the program is both challenging & highly useful.

Workplaces which have taken advantage of this training include:

  • a multicampus TAFE college
  • a national counselling group
  • a State Government IT business
  • a statewide pathology company
  • a department of Corrections as part of a conflict resolution program across its statewide facilities
  • District Health Board
  • local government
  • NGO

Feedback

Got more than expected out of the 3 days. I came along not being able to really spare 3 days, but am glad I stayed.
